Contractor training gives the people who work with your systems and information without being employees a clear, short account of the rules that apply to them: what they may access, how they handle your data, what they must report and what happens when the engagement ends. It closes the gap between the contract’s security clauses and the contractor’s daily habits.

It matters because contractors often hold significant access with less oversight than staff, and because their own equipment, tools and practices may differ from yours. Many incidents begin with a third party’s account or device. Start by listing the contractors who hold access today and the systems and data each can reach.
