Cybersecurity Manual
Build a cybersecurity program manual that sets out governance, roles, policies and operating procedures.
A cybersecurity manual is the single document that sets out how your organization governs security: who is accountable, which policies apply, how the main operating procedures run and how the whole thing is reviewed. It is the reference your policies, procedures and training point back to.
It matters because a program that lives in people’s heads cannot be handed over, audited or improved. When a new leader arrives, a customer asks how you manage risk, or an assessor asks for your program documentation, the manual is the answer. Writing it also exposes the gaps: roles nobody holds, policies that contradict practice, procedures nobody has tested.
Start with the structure, not the prose. List the chapters you need, name an owner for each, and write the governance chapter first so roles and decision rights are settled before the detail. Reuse the policies and procedures you already have rather than rewriting them. Joe can help you draft sections and keep the language plain; your leadership approves what the manual commits you to.
